Dr Bill Wilson, SNP MSP for the West of Scotland, has welcomed the announcement by the Scottish Government that £100,000 will be spent on youth projects throughout Renfrewshire. The money is being made available through the Cashback for Communities scheme, which has seen over 31.8 Million being seized from criminals and being issued to over 100 projects all over Scotland.
The projects benefiting from the programme include Paisley YMCA, Johnstone Castle Community Learning Centre, Moorpark Youth Centre, Ferguslie Park Sports, Recreation and Leisure, GO COUNTRY, Loud 'n' Proud, Paisley & District Scout Council.
Speaking on the awards, Bill said:
“This announcement will benefit young people throughout Renfrewshire, ensuring that facilities are available for them to take a full and active part in their community.
“The assets of criminals could not be spent on better projects, ensuring that the ill gotten gains actually work to give something back to the community.
“I’m sure that the awards will be welcomed by the organisations receiving them, as well as everyone around Renfrewshire.”
